This was my junior studio soft goods project. I designed a bag that can be taken hiking and it allows for you to bring your camera gear while on the trip.
A.B.B.A. Childcare is a before and after school program for children in grades K-5. They are a faith based company established by the First Baptist children's mission program in Manchester NY. I have currently been working here for 3 years. It was during my 3rd year, this year (2017), that I was approached by the director of the program to redesign their company sign.
I worked with a non-for-profit organization called Hope For Honduras. The sub group I worked with was Little Angles of Honduras. My task was to create a baby wrap that keeps the baby warm while supporting the mother and providing them with a sense of security while holding their child. My main task was to reduce the number of infant premature deaths.
The mothers practice KMC (Kangaroo Mother Care). This is a skin to skin procedure in which the child is placed onto the parent's chest to promote further physical development. The moms attended visits at the hospital to practice this treatment for their children. I had to create a wrap that would encourage this and keep the baby safe.
